The CD-i is a system for presenting information such as text, images, and video, on a TV screen.
The standard was defined by Philips and Sony and is described in the Green Book. It was designed to play games, educational software, and movies. It was never a great success though Philips supported it for many years with a respectable amount, but no breakthrough titles.
